Like many of you, I'm beyond disgusted with the Senate Democrats who voted against stripping the Telcom Immunity out of the FISA bill.
Some of the names on the list of dishonor I sent money to in 2006.
One of them was Jim Webb.
I called his Senate office today and asked how I can get my Money back.
They directed me to Webbs PAC. So I called there and asked for my money back. They told me to write a letter asking for the refund and they would send it to me. So, I'm writing my letter and getting my money back.
Looks like GOP Joe is trying to exact revenge against CT Democrats by holding a fundraiser for the GOP Mayor of Milford CT on Oct.14.
Details can be found here
This is a blatant attempt by Lieberman to try to screw Milford Democrats who had the audacity to support their parties Senate nominee (Ned Lamont) in the 2006 general election, instead of kissing Lieberman's ring.
But there is a way of turning this into a big screw you back to Lieberman and the CT GOP.
Please follow me into the fold..
CNN interviewed Kenneth Pollack today about his and O'Hanlon's latest op-ed in the nytimes about how great things are going in Iraq. The one thing that troubled me about the interview, apart from Pollack regurgatating the same WH talking points, was that the CNN anchor described these two clowns as "War Critics".Thanks to Glenn Greenwald, I don't have to go into why this label of "War critics" is patently false. Two hours later, on CNN international, the CNN host repeated this false label about these two. CNN is trying to give the viewer the impression that these guys were against the war and that they have suddenly been converted to Hawks because of the latest "dog and pony show" they were given by the pentagon in Iraq. CNN makes no mention of the fact that these guys have been cheerleaders of the war for the past 4 years.
Between this and last months bogus Sanjay Gupta piece on Sicko, I'm finding CNN's branding of " the most trusted name in news" to be as honest as Fox's "fair and balanced."
Well, It looks like the great white hope of the conservatives is too scared to debate little old Michael Moore (Scroll down)
I guess Thompson thought he could score some knuckle drag points by blasting Moore for the Cuba trip, but instead, got exposed as a cigar smoking, Castro backing hypocrite. Too funny!
It looks like Chris Murphy is now polling ahead of Nancy Johnson for the 5th Congressional district in CT according to latest UCONN/Courant poll.
This race has been called a bell-wheather race by the media since last year. Johnson has been running some real disgusting ads recently and they seem to have backfired on her. Her ads have been claiming everything from Murphy supports the Terrorists to Murphy supports Drug dealers.
As many of you know, Nancy Johnson has been in congress for way too long. She's the one most responsable for the bogus Medicare prescription drug scam that allows Drug companies to name their price and strips the Federal government of the right to bargain for lower drug prices. She has been a tool for the Drug and Insurance companies and has sold her constituents down the river for way too long.
Today, Democratic candidate Chris Murphy put out a TV ad which, to me, has got to be one of the best ads I've seen all year.
Check it out here: http://www.murphyforcongress.org/
This is what a movement looks like!.
Ned Lamont won the moveon poll by a whopping 85% and captured the moveon endorsement. Belows the email I just got from moveon
A quick reading of this MSNBC poll and analysis can bring one to only one conclusion: The American people are sick of Bush and the Republicans and are looking for some leadership and balls from the Democrats to offer an alterative and stand up against the Republican menace. Bush's numbers are abysmal in practically every category and yet, because of the Democrats timidity, we have not been able to get Americans to see the Democrats as a viable alternative.
I apologize in advance for this short diary, but I wanted to share some really good news. It looks like we just might have a decent primary challenger to Lieberman in CT. Ned Lamont is a democratic business man from Greenich CT, and has promised to use some of his own wealth to finance his run against Lieberman.
Lieberman has decided to help out the Republican noice machine even more and appear on the Hannity and milk toast show. We should start putting money on what day he's going on the radio circuit and be a special guest of Rush Limbaugh.
Now that the municipal elections are over, it's time to set our sites on taking back the 5th congressional district seat from the corporate hack Nancy Johnson. We have a great opportunity in 2006 and a great candidate in Chris Murphy.
George Carlin is channeling some great Muse tonite.
Is anyone else watching Carlin Live in NYC?
He's looking old, but he has never been more on the mark then tonight.
If this subject was already diaryed, I'm sorry, but did anybody else see Chuck Schumer's idiotic answer to Russerts question when asked if he regretted voting in favor of giving Bush a blank check to wage a illegal war in Iraq? Not only did he not admit the mistake, he used Bush talking points to defend his absurd argument.
Well, no, Tim, because my vote was seen and I still see it as a need to say we must fight a strong and active war on terror
WTF?? Chuck, Do you think the Iraq War has anything to do with the war on Terror?????
With a large majority of the American public clearly against Bush's war, Bush's poll numbers in free fall, where are the Democrartic leaders going to be during , most likely , the largest anti war rally since Vietnam? Anywhere but in Washington, thats where.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't get a warm and fussy feeling about Lieberman being at the head of a congressional investigation that could very well reveal that the War in Iraq was a key reason why people and resources were not where they needed to be for Katrina.
Wait!, Before you call me a stoned, hippie whacko, think about it. There are many good reasons why the Democratic party should adopt Cannabis decriminalization as part of our party platform. Some are moral, religious, and some are political.
Below the fold is a short list of just a few.
