Here in Chicago, this election season has been relatively TV ad-free, which is what makes this one so jarring. It is an attack ad funded by the NRCC that does not mention Phil Crane. It attacks Bean for wanting to raise taxes, living outside the district (??), and for supporting Pelosi over IL's own Hastert.
Chicago is an expensive media market so running TV ads (even during daytime TV) for a long serving incumbent is a very good sign.
